Show of the Day for 1/29

Today the Grids highlight the return of Deadfeat to the Jazz Fest night calendar at Republic on May 3rd and 4th. During Jazz Fest 2011, Anders Osborne and his band, the Grateful Dead's Bill Kreutzmann, Little Feat's Paul Barrere and Fred Tackett, and Billy Iuso took the stage at The Temple in New Orleans for the first time ever together with not even one note of rehearsal. What ensued was three hours of Grateful Dead, Little Feat, and Anders Osborne tunes, and a bevy of thrilling covers. The same band and lineup returned during Jazz Fest 2012 at Republic, which also quickly sold out. After taking a break in 2013, the same incredible musicians will regroup for two shows at Republic on May 3 and 4, 2014. Once again, they will perform Grateful Dead, Little Feat, Anders Osborne tunes. More information and ticket links to these shows are located on the Second Weekend Page.

Show of the Day!

Show of the Day is a new feature here on the Grids where we will highlight either a newly posted show, a show that is receiving tremendous interest from the Threadhead community or something completely subjective. Let's start off with Fiya Power!, the second annual event which was released today that will take place on 2:00 a.m. on May 1st (technically 5/2) featuring a supergroup of keyboardist Ivan Neville (Dumpstaphunk), drummer Stanton Moore (Galactic), saxaphone wiz Skerik (Garage a Trois), bassist Tony Hall (Dumpstaphunk), lap steel guitarist Roosevelt Collier (Lee Boys), guitarist Eddie Roberts (New Mastersounds) and Rahzel (Roots). We're Up and Running!

Welcome back to Jazzfestgrids.com, the best site to plan out your jazz fest nights to see all the amazing musicians that New Orleans has to offer.

I’m pleased to let everyone know that we have started populating the grids, which means Jazz Fest 2014 is just around the corner!

Bart and I will be adding shows to the grids once they have been confirmed. We will do our best, but we all know that no matter how many times we check there will be many changes so don't get upset if you don't see something up there, if it is listed wrong, if it conflicts with something else that's listed on another site - because it's all subject to change at a moment's notice. If you see something that needs to be revised or should be added, shoot me an email using the link to the left to papagrowsnyc at gmail dot com.

Please be reminded that the contents of this site are a collaborative effort among the Threadheads, you cannot copy it for your own website (but you may link to ours with our permission) and you cannot use the contents for articles, the development of apps, websites or other technology.

In addition, if you are interested in finding out more information about the Threadhead Cultural Foundation you can find it here http://thrfoundation.com.

Hoping everyone has a great Fest this year!
